Built in 1882 along the French Creek, the foundry of Phoenix Iron & Steel Company poured iron castings well into the 1970's and is considered Phoenixville's and Northern Chester County's most important symbol of the town's illustrious industrial past.

About Michael Porchik

Michael Porchik

I grew up in the country about 45 minutes northwest of Philadelphia. I tend to enjoy the simpler things in life, such as covered bridges, my fur pal Mundee, nature and photography. I am a mostly self taught photographer who isn't afraid to ask others about other techniques as I believe all artist can continue to learn and grow from the work of others. I am lucky enough to live in Chester County Pennsylvania which is home to quite a few covered bridges. I am hoping to one day finish photograhing all of the bridges in the county, after that I can move on to the surrounding counties. My wife and I adopted my Fur Pal Mundee 3 years ago, and I love being able to capture the intensity of the Border Collie species. I love dogs in...
